Marian is a fourth-year undergraduate from Virginia Beach, VA pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and Youth & Social Innovation in the School of Education and Human Development. Marian has served as a research assistant for the Adolescence Research Group since the spring 2024 semester and is interested in studying long-term effects of mentor-mentee relationships in a college setting and the influence of cultural values on emotional stress or trauma within parent-child relationships, especially concerning underrepresented and marginalized groups. At UVA, she is involved with Peer Advising Family Network and Organization of Young Filipino Americans and is a Clinical Administration & Program Evaluation Intern at the Sheila C. Johnson Center for Clinical Services. In her spare time, Marian enjoys visiting different cafes, reading romance novels, or having movie marathons with friends! Upon graduation, Marian is planning to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on child psychopathology.
