Isabel Ohakamma
Isabel is a second-year undergraduate from Houston, TX pursuing a B.S.Ed in Youth & Social Innovation and B.A. in Psychology through the UVA School of Education and Human Development. Isabel has served as a research assistant for the Adolescence Research Group since the fall 2024 semester and is interested in studying adolescent development and tools to support young people as they emerge into adulthood. Specifically, the unique experiences that young people from underrepresented communities have as they navigate their identity, and Isabel wants to work to create tools to empower and support them. Additionally, Isabel finds the importance of policy and it's impact on young people intriguing. In her spare time, Isabel enjoys traveling and baking. She also owns a pet rabbit! In the future, Isabel plans to earn a PhD in Clinical Psychology and merge research with policy making to enact effective change.
