Serena Yao

Serena is a second-year undergraduate from Beijing, China pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and Cognitive Science. Serena has served as a research assistant for the Adolescence Research Group since the fall 2025 semester and is interested in studying how childhood interpersonal interactions shape psychological functioning and affect the development and treatment of mental health disorders, particularly major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. In her spare time, Serena enjoys listening to music, learning new languages, and observing the world around her. Upon graduation, Ryan is planning to pursue graduate school for Clinical Psychology.
