October 20th, 2026:
Seventh-grade students from Lakeside and Burley visited the UVA School of Medicine for an interactive day exploring science, research, and the brain. Students toured the Andersen Lab and Hui Li Lab, learned about ongoing biomedical research, participated in brain awareness activities, and visited the UVA Health System helipad. The visit introduced students to the world of scientific discovery, neuroscience, and the many ways research helps us understand the brain and improve human health!
