As part of our DOE-funded MACROCOSM project (PI: Xiangtao Xu, Cornell), our team successfully conducted TLS field campaign near the El Yunque forest in Puerto Rico. The TLS data will be used to quantify tree structural responses to experimental drought conducted by our colleagues at Columbia (PI: Maria Uriate). Yiting and Zejun did pre-dawn scans of the forest at 3 am in the morning, and scanned all six plots (3 drought + 3 reference). Muddy and slippery environment!
