Gabe Halford

Gabe grew up in Alexandria, VA. He attended Wellesley College, where he studied chemistry and art history and did research on mixed-halide perovskite chemistries, receiving a B.A. in 2021. He did the first two years of his graduate work at Wesleyan University in the Personick Lab before moving to UVA with the group in August 2023. Gabe’s research interests include mechanistic understanding of shaped nanostructure growth and materials design for clean energy applications more broadly. In his spare time, Gabe enjoys live music, visual art, horror and science podcasts, reading short stories, and accumulating houseplants.
