Postdoctoral Researchers

The Personick Research Group is currently hiring a postdoctoral scholar in the field of heterogeneous catalysis, with multiple exciting options for projects in areas such as dilute bimetallic catalysts, plasmonic photocatalysis, and/or reconfigurable catalyst materials. Experience in catalysis or surface science with relevance to catalysis is required.

Come join our group and the broader UVA catalysis community as part of the Catalysis Initiative for Clean Energy and Chemicals.

Please note that no applications can be accepted by email.

Graduate Students

The Personick Research Group accepts Ph.D. students each year from the Department of Chemistry. We are actively recruiting prospective graduate students who are interested in nanomaterials synthesis, catalysis, electrochemistry, and surface science. No previous background in these areas is required. Information on applying to the UVA Chemistry Ph.D. program can be found here

Undergraduate Researchers

The Personick Research Group is excited to work with undergraduate researchers. Due to limited capacity, we are unfortunately not able to accommodate all interested students. Students can begin research in our group at any stage of their undergraduate career, though we typically expect a two-year research commitment. This ensures that you will have time to grow and develop as a researcher and to contribute to your independent research project. Participation in full-time, paid summer research is also strongly encouraged for undergraduate researchers in our group.

If you are interested in joining the group as an undergraduate researcher, please send an email to Prof. Personick that includes: your major and class year, a description of why you are interested in (1) undergraduate research and (2) our research topics, what length of research commitment you are interested in, a CV/resume, and an unofficial transcript.
