Study Aims

The primary aims of our study are centered on understanding the intricacies of cognitive aging. Our research is driven by three major questions:

Trajectory of Normal Cognitive Aging We aim to comprehensively chart the typical progression of cognitive abilities over time. This includes identifying the patterns and phases of cognitive development and decline that occur naturally with age.
Distinguishing Normal and Pathological Aging A key focus is to establish methodologies for differentiating between normal cognitive aging and early stages of pathological decline.
Correlates of Cognitive Change We are also dedicated to exploring the various factors that correlate with cognitive changes. This involves examining a broad spectrum of influences, ranging from biological and psychological factors to lifestyle and environmental variables, to understand their impact on the aging cognitive process.
