Study Aims
The primary aims of our study are centered on understanding the intricacies of cognitive aging. Our research is driven by three major questions:
Trajectory of Normal Cognitive Aging | We aim to comprehensively chart the typical progression of cognitive abilities over time. This includes identifying the patterns and phases of cognitive development and decline that occur naturally with age. |
Distinguishing Normal and Pathological Aging | A key focus is to establish methodologies for differentiating between normal cognitive aging and early stages of pathological decline. |
Correlates of Cognitive Change | We are also dedicated to exploring the various factors that correlate with cognitive changes. This involves examining a broad spectrum of influences, ranging from biological and psychological factors to lifestyle and environmental variables, to understand their impact on the aging cognitive process. |
