Roopali Mukherjee

Roopali Mukherjee is Associate Professor of Media Studies. She is also a faculty member in the Film Studies, Asian American Studies, and Africana Studies programs, and serves as Associate Director of Macaulay Honors College at Queens College.

Mukherjee writes about race in American public culture. She is author of The Racial Order of Things: Cultural Imaginaries of the Post-Soul Era (University of Minnesota Press, 2006) and co-editor of Commodity Activism: Cultural Resistance in Neoliberal Times (NYU Press, 2012).  

Her current projects include the book, The Blacking Factory: Material Cultures and the Technologies of the Racial Self, and a second co-edited anthology titled Race Post-Race: Culture, Critique, and the Color Line.
