"The Learning Hub made my transition from high school to college much smoother by equipping me with skills for learning, note-taking, and studying. "When I showed up to the Learning Hub on the first day I did not know what to expect. I had signed up for it as it was recommended to me as an opportunity to learn valuable skills that could help me in my classes. I didn't realize it at the time, but I would be walking away from this program with a plethora of great studying approaches, test-taking strategies, different ways to understand in-class lectures, and a brand new perspective of learning in general. My mentor, Veronica Pitts, was a fantastic educator and resource throughout the entire process and beyond. She always checked in on us regarding the content we were working with, but I also really appreciated how much she cared about our lives outside of the Learning Hub. One of my favorite parts of the Learning Hub was getting to apply the techniques to my everyday life in my classes. I found myself thinking back to our sessions and trying new ways to do my work.
