LMIRCam

The L/M-band Infrared Camera (LMIRcam) is a 3-5 micron camera for imaging the Fizeau focus of the interferometrically-combined light of the Large Binocular Telescope on Mt. Graham, AZ.  The camera resides within the University of Arizona's Nulling Optimized Mid-Infrared Camera (NOMIC) instrument.  A collaboration between UVa, UA, Notre Dame, and the Univ of Minnesota, it was led by Mike Skrutskie and was the thesis project of Jarron Leisenring.  I was the optics lead for this camera.

The instrument has since been augmented with lenslets to transform it into an integral field spectrograph.  This project, called ALES (Arizona Lenslets for Exoplanet Spectroscopy) is led by Andy Skemer at UCSC.
