Welcome to my personal site. 

I am a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia. Trained as a comparativist with a focus on U.S. cases, I research the politics of policing and the criminal-legal system. My dissertation project focuses on how political polarization and the nationalization of policing attitudes has shaped on-the-ground behavior of police officers when they interact with citizens. I am also interested in studying alternative justice frameworks (i.e., restorative and transformative justice) to understand the effects that anti-carceral alternatives have on social and economic outcomes for those involved. More broadly, I am interested in public sector labor, the street-level bureaucracy, interest and extremist groups, and political economy.
