The CAIL Lab focuses on research related to age-related changes in cognition, social and behavioral correlates of cognitive aging, and the development of standardized interventions on cognition.
Dr. Mariana Teles (University of Virginia, Department of Psychology)
I have conducted cross-sectional and longitudinal studies to explore the complexity of the cognitive aging process and determine the best psychological and behavioral predictors of dysfunctionalities or disorders among older adults. I am particularly interested in studying the protective factors leading to healthy aging and well-being. Using a multi-perspective approach, I aim to investigate how a diverse set of non-pharmacological interventions can attenuate or delay the cognitive decline associated with aging.
