Bio

I am a Research Professor at the University of Virginia.

My research efforts are focused on nuclear and particle physics, aimed, in particular, to answering the questions of what generates the mass and spin of the nucleon, and its spatial structure and mechanical properties in terms of fundamental constituents, the quarks and gluons

My interests include:

  • Femtography, or the study of nucleon structure at the femtoscale
  • The Energy Momentum Tensor of Spin 0, 1/2 and 1 systems and Generalized Parton Distributions
  • Phenomenology of Deeply Virtual Scattering Reactions in Nucleons and Nuclei
  • Extraction of information from deeply virtual exclusive experiments using Machine Learning
  • Wigner Distributions and Quantum information at the femtoscale
