Dr. Diane A. Dickie

Crystallographer

Diane has a background in main group chemistry, and first used single-crystal X-ray diffraction as Ph.D. student trying to understand metal-ligand interactions in the molecules she was synthesizing. After gaining experience working in diffraction labs at the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque,NM) and Brandeis University (Waltham, MA), she became UVA's crystallographer in early 2018. She enjoys having the opportunity to work closely with students who are using crystallography to study a huge variety of cutting edge questions in diverse fields of chemistry and materials research.
