David Freire

 David Freire is a fifth-year clinical psychology graduate student at the University of Virginia. He received his BA in Psychology and Human Health from Emory University in 2019. He is interested in learning how social contexts that interact with marginalized identities affect the emotional and developmental outcomes of minority youth. He is also interested in understanding how the identities of marginalized groups can better inform the diagnostic process and treatment of mental disorders within these communities by utilizing a culturally sensitive lens. Outside of the lab, David loves movies, trivia, and exploring nature when the weather is nice. He also has an adorable dog named Kyoshi!
