Madelyn Mathai is pursuing her PhD in Data Science at the University of Virginia. Her research interests lie in algorithm transparency, fairness, and civic technology. She is also appointed as a Graduate Research Assistant at Aikyam Lab at SDS. She is currently working on developing a Climate Explainable AI Agent to better articulate decision making of multimodal S2S climate models. She is also currently serving as a Community Data Fellow working with the Fountain Fund. She received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
