Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr. Timothy B. Higgins is currently a Climate Fellow (Postdoctoral Research Associate) at the Environmental Institute, University of Virginia, where he works on multimodality applications in weather and climate. He holds a Ph.D from the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Colorado - Boulder, where he worked on various projects that focused on predictions and predictability of atmospheric river activity on the US West Coast in weather, S2S, and climate scales. His past work often involved applying modern methods of machine learning towards improving predictions of hazardous events. His current work aims to merge numerical weather and climate data with natural language processing.
