Video-Conferencing

Many of our experiments are designed using a video-conferencing paradigm where subjects are seated in booths and converse with each other via a closed-circuit video feed.  Our lab is also involved in a variety of multi-site, collaborative projects, so we are video-conferencing 3 to 5 times per week with people all over the world.  As such, we are naturally interested in the technical and psychological details related to video-conferencing.

Our most recent work entitled, “High-Presence, Low-Bandwidth, Apparent 3D Video-Conferencing with a Single Camera”, was presented at WIAMIS 2009. The demonstration video can be seen below or downloaded in MOV format for offline viewing.
