The Greater Caribbean Studies Network at UVA is an interdisciplinary working group dedicated to the study of the circum-Caribbean and its diasporas. Convened by Rashana Lydner and Njelle Hamilton, the network welcomes faculty, graduate students and those with an interest in the Caribbean to gather regularly for focused intellectual exchange. Our meetings offer a dynamic and collegial space for workshopping members’ work-in-progress and for the collective reading and discussion of published scholarship by fellow Caribbeanists. The network is open to all members of the university and local community, and welcomes collaborations with sister institutions, outside organizations and intellectuals from around the world.
