Welcome to the UVA Field Methods Workshop. We are a group of scholars who work with or are interested in field methods, ethnography, participant observation, and various other methods of in-depth, interpretive, qualitative research. We gather for monthly presentations of work, discuss topics of mutual concern, host invited speakers, and generally forge an intellectual community around common issues. Most of our meetings are on Fridays, and of late they have been in the Brooks Hall conference room on the second floor.
