I am the Commonwealth Professor of Psychology Emeritus at the University of Virginia where I held the following positions:
- Founding Director of the Undergradute Degree Program in Cognitive Science .
- Faculty member (1979-2019) and Chair (2008-2011) of the Psychology Department.
- Faculty member in the Graduate Degree Program in Neuroscience.
- Cavalier Distinguished Teaching Professor (1999-2001)
- Faculty Consultant to the University Board of Visitors (2013-2015)
- Recipient Thomas Jefferson Award for Scholarship (2021)
