Joya Bhattacharyya is currently a second year majoring in global public health as well as cognitive science with a concentration in neuroscience, and minoring in psychology. Her interests include social and abnormal psychology, especially approaching mental health as a global health issue. After undergrad, she plans to pursue a MPH in epidemiology and then a PhD in neuroscience. Outside of classes, she is the president of UVA’s Global Infectious Diseases Academic Council, an editor of Conflux global health magazine, and a member of Ektaal A Capella.
