Members of the Board of Visitors are appointed by the Governor for four-year terms, which under some circumstances, may be renewed. A student member is elected by the Board for a one-year term. Among the powers and duties of the Board are: establishing general education policy; electing the President, Vice Presidents and members of the faculty; fixing the tuition charges and other fees; regulating the government and disciplining the students; purchasing real estate and approving the annual budget.
