Dr. Zhiyong Zhang grew up in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Polymer Material and Engineering and M.S. in Polymer Physics and Chemistry from Beijing University of Chemical Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Michigan Technological University under the advisement of Dr. Wenzhen Li. He later worked as Postdoctoral Research Associate under Dr. Steven H. Overbury at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 2012 to 2016. He joined the Dr. Sen Zhang’s group at University of Virginia as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in November 2016. In the spare time, he likes hiking, jogging, and reading.
