Kurtis Schaeffer is the Frances Myers Ball Professor of Buddhism in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia, where he is also co-director of the Religion, Race, & Democracy Lab and publishes the podcast Sacred & Profane. He is the author and editor of numerous books on Tibetan history and Buddhist literature.
