Leland Farmer is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the University of Virginia (UVA). His research areas are macroeconomics, asset pricing, and econometrics. In published work, he has developed new methods for quantitatively assessing the impact of nonlinearities in economic and financial models. His most recent research focuses on understanding how models of learning can explain apparent anomalies in data from surveys of professional forecasters.
