Shenandoah National Park
Ami grew up in Connecticut and received her B.S. in mathematics from Wake Forest University in 1996. She worked in Yosemite National Park before returning to school the following year. She graduated in 1999 with a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from UVA. From there, she’s worked for the USGS and NPS in parks from Alaska to the Everglades. She came back to UVA for her PhD in 2006. Her work entails studying the transport and transformations of mercury within catchments of Shenandoah National Park.
