Introduction: UVA Athletics is partnering with the Sports Analytics and Statistics Laboratory (SASL) to support internships in sports analytics with UVA Athletics teams. Interns will be assigned to one or more athletic teams, with projects supported by SASL staff and UVA Athletics analytics professionals. Internship projects will begin in early 2021 and continue through the Spring ’21 semester.
Qualifications: All interns must be current full-time UVA students, but otherwise there are no specific requirements. Applications for internships are expected to be competitive, with selection based on prior analytics experience, preferred sports, a demonstrated passion for sports analytics, and other factors.
Application Materials: To apply, you will need to provide (a) your name and email address; (b) a copy of your unofficial transcript from SIS; (c) a statement describing any experience you have in sports analytics (or related) and explaining why you are applying (250 word maximum).
