Krystal Doh

2019 Summer Research Assistant

Krystal, a rising third year student, is interested in a variety of topics such as international relations, women and gender studies, and economics. These, as well as her dedication to live by a code of honesty, inspires her to eventually work for the United Nations or the Peace Corps. After taking a class with Professor Claudrena Harold, Krystal learned more about the creation of the African American studies program at UVA and appreciated how essential the elevation of marginalized histories was to understand who one is, where one comes from, and who makes up a community. When asked which historical time period she could choose to live in, Krystal answered the ‘90s because of its eccentric culture and influential music. Krystal will also be working at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities on the Virginia African American historic sites database.
