Imani Edwards

2019 Summer Research Assistant

As a rising second year at UVA, Imani has experience engaging in critical discussions on race, history, and global issues by pursuing classes ranging from Global Cultural Studies to African American Studies. Imani will bring these diverse interests to the Julian Bond project where she will aid in the transcription of Bond’s speeches and scholarly articles. Her fascination with romance languages, specifically Spanish, inspired her to choose to live in pre-revolution Cuba if given the choice but as a more realistic goal, she plans to study abroad. Although she has only been in Charlottesville for a short time, she is eager to learn more about its rich history and to connect with the community.
